My favorite outfit from this month!

The floral vest was a recent find from the thrift store. I scored her four dollars and she paired beautifully with my flowy pink top (also thrfited a couple of years ago).

January brought us into the depth of the basketball season as we began our league play.

The season has been a tough one for us as we are a younge team with a lot of amateaur players. We are a small program of only 11 girl basketball players and most of them have only played basketball for one to two years. Therefore, it has been a lot of learning, and unfortunately a lot of losing.

However, through it all I am so proud of the girl's continued progress and never giving up.

Shout out to my Auntie Gina for snagging photos of the team at our game against Arupe Jesuit. This one is my favorite.

Walking in Leadville

After a long ride up to Leadville, I dragged my basketball team out of the gym for a walk around the little mountain town. My intention was two fold: to get the blood flowing before our fame and to expereince some actual winter weather since we have been so deprived down in Denver.

Baby Cowboys

While wandering around the Western Complex, I stumbled upon this free event for the amateur cowboys. It was a bullriding event and the ages were from 4-17 years old.

The riding began with the four year old who was riding a very slow and very old bull. He held on for the full 8 seconds and the young bullriding hopped off and threw his hat to the crowd like a true professional.

Bulldog Baby

I found this cutie at the thrift store and I immediately fell in love. Not only is he cute, but during my high school basketball career one of my nicknames from one of my coaches was "bulldog". So, I had to have him.

He is a perfect addition to my home.

Faithful Fans

The fans of our basketball team are die-hards. This woman will live stream the games, JV and V, for anyone who is not able to make the game. Along with her efforts, we travel with a big crowd that has coordinated cheers.

Lake County High School

All of our games are paired with the boy's team, and it has been so fun to watch them develop and have an awesome season. They are currently number one in the leauge and the coaches have done a beautiful job creating a strong program.

Dressing Room Selfie

Excuse the mess behind me, each day I get dressed, I try on at least three options for the day's outfit.

Art Deco in Denver

Snuck away from the world for a bit to catch "Hamnet" at the Mayan off Broadway. On my walk to the theather I snagged this photo as I was struck by the gorgeous light fixtures on the firehouse.

For the Love of Basketball

This man is a staple of the basketball program. He comes to every game and watches all three games with great attentiveness.

When I began coaching at the school, he stopped me to chat and we shared our personal histories and our shared love for bball.

I asked him, "What makes you such a devotee to EHS?". And he responded, "Well, believe if or not, I graduated from here sixty-five years ago. And, I've coached all over, but the coaches have always welcomed me here...espeically after I retired.".

It's been great to share stories with each other and also swap book recommendations because if he isn't watching bball...he's reading.

A date with my Sonny Boy

We started our date off at the library, then we went to the park, and finished it off with a cake pop at Starbucks. He is the sweetest soul.

When I asked him what he wanted, he looked in the glass display case and responded, "I want the cake pop with the heart, because I love you so much".

For my Vanity

I find this gorgeous bust at the thrift store and she was an immediate yes. I have always loved this vintage ceramic busts, but I've only ever found this with caucasian skin and blonde hair. So, when I saw this latin beauty, I knew she had to be mine. She is currently sitting on my dressing room's vanity next to all my cosmetics.

Another Favorite Outfit

I failed to snag a full body picture of this outfit, but I did capture this detail as I marveled at the simple elegance of these tights.

Brianna finds beauty in a well-worn book, in the eclectic colors and textures of a thrift store find, and in the sound of a killer guitar solo whether it be live or through a well thought out Spotify playlist. Her passions are varied and many, but they all center on appreciating the fullness of life.
