Mona Lisa socks to power me through my fitness playdate.

Along with a climbing gym, Earth Treks has a great little gym to play around in.

I am feeling strong. My weight amounts go up on the racks, but I'm also seeing my muscle endurance increase during certain holds in yoga. Yoga is much more of a meditative experience for me than a workout. The paced breathing, stretching, and extended holds help me to center my thinking and calm my mind. I am forming my own practice and finding those positions that make my body happy.

​Rock climbing has been such a great mental and physical exercise over the past couple of months. I feel my grip strength improving, my back muscles firing and pulling me upward, and most of all I am growing in confidence as I scale the walls. I really do love rock climbing because it requires your whole focus. Nothing else can occupy your mind...and man, that is s a beautiful thing. Just you, your body, and the wall. 

Along with rock climbing, I've been playing around with bouldering when I am without a climbing partner. Boulder is scaling a wall without ropes. The walls are smaller, but I find it to be a lot more challenging. It is almost as if the walls function more as a puzzle than a test of strength/endurance. The video is a quick snippet of a route that I've been stuck on for the past couple of weeks. Conquered it with a not so graceful decent...but hey, I'm glad I was wearing a sports bra.

I love moving my body. I am thankful for my body. And, I am also thankful for the time to engage in what I love.
