Saturday mornings are meant for Yoga and a coffee shop visit before the hour of nine. I am currently sitting at my favorite coffee shop in Golden, Colorado sipping on a black coffee paired with a big ass cranberry scone. The sun is still laying flat and reminding me of the promise of the rest of the hours of the day. I love my Saturdays, especially since I finished grad school. My typical Saturday lacks an agenda, sans Yoga at eight a.m. with Karen. Otherwise, I am a free bird. I haven't wound up at Bean Fosters for a couple of months, but man it's still as good as ever. The treats always hit the spot, the view of the Table Top Mountains are stately and peaceful, and the patio table on the outside is always left empty for writing and sunbathing. It's the perfect place to `begin a wandering Saturday.
Along with the views, I get to eavesdrop on the most interesting of conversations. I am currently sitting next to a couple who seem to be on a date. It's obviously not a first date because the middle aged man is knee-deep in a conversation about his "lively squirrel population". They laugh and giggle about the state of their gardens and the hierarchy of the mice/rattle-snake food-chain. It's wonderful. Hearing people speak of the goodness of a simple life versus the curated news is refreshing and weirdly inspiring. I'll relax here for a maybe an hour, before the rest of the city wakes up. Do some reading, doodling, and writing. Then, I feel like treasure hunting at the thrift store off Broadway. I need nothing, but I am always excited for the possibility to find something unique or a little weird to add to my wardrobe. We'll see what comes my way or where I end up. I plan to live in hope.

Brianna finds beauty in a well-worn book, in the eclectic colors and textures of a thrift store find, and in the sound of a killer guitar solo whether it be live or through a well thought out Spotify playlist. Her passions are varied and many, but they all center on appreciating the fullness of life. Archives
